Powerboat Skill Builder Training
Our focus is to provide boat safety instruction on your boat taught by one of our Licensed/Certified Captains.
Boating Fundamentals
Module 1 | 3hrs
This crucial skill-builder course will teach you the basic parts of the boat, important laws, rules of the water,
operating instructions, handling waves & wind, and safety checklists.
Precision Docking & Boat Handling
Module 2 | 3hrs
You will master basic handling requirements for everyday common situations on the water, starting with dock departure,
turning the boat around 180 degrees and docking approaches.
Open Water Boat Handling
Module 3 | 3hrs
Focus will be on real-world boat handling situations on the open water, learning to read navigational signals, and learn
how to avoid over-steering and course correction issues when traveling a long distance.
Open Water Advanced Maneuvering
Module 4 | 3hrs
You will learn how to reach planing speed, handle wakes, sharp maneuvers and man-overboard tactics.
SaferBoater also offers the US Powerboating "Safe Powerboat Handling" Course with on-the-water & classroom
instruction (16 hours).

Motor Yacht Training
These classes are for Yachts 35 ft - 100+ ft and are usually conducted aboard the client's yacht over multiple days.
By taking our Basic Powerboat Cruising & Inshore Powerboat Cruising courses, you'll be able to apply for the International Proficiency Certification (IPC) for Yachts, which is required to charter boats in European waters.
Our Instructors will travel to you if you own a yacht but arrangements can be made if you don't.
